It is a complicated process since optician need to physically record your important measurements like pupillary distance, heights, eye prescription and to do a spectacle try out to provide best suited prescribed pair of spectacle.
The current situation not only in Sri Lanka but in the whole world is not so good due to covid 19 pandemic and this has affected people’s daily activities tremendously especially in the health sector. Therefore many people are now reluctant to visit these places mainly due to hygiene issues and covid 19 screening hassle that has to be gone through inside the premises.So after considering and listening to our customer feedbacks we came up with this unique online optical solution (Hybrid Online Optical Store) first time in Sri Lanka.

Company
Our mother company is George Gooneratne Optometrists, Established by Late Mr. George Abeygooneratne in 1956 and developed by his elder son Mr. Lionel Abeygooneratne. Currently his son Mr. Jayantha Abeygooneratne is the president of George Gooneratne Optometrists and its manufacturing department Highray Enterprises.
Administrative and operational activities are handled by Mr. Hiran Abeygooneratne BBA in MGMT & MKT (USA).
Eye Testing and Digital Free Form processing Departments are headed by Mr. Diluk Abeygooneratne B.Sc. (Hons. Optics - UK).
Mr. Ravin Abeygooneratne (Dispensing Optics UK, Refraction UK) is a Director in the Marketing and HR Departments.

At present George Gooneratne Optometrist, Highray Enterprises, eyewearlk and George Gooneratne Discount Centers are managed by its 3rd generation). Three Abeygooneratne brothers (Hiran, Diluk and Ravin) have taken over the management process under the name of LENS EXPERT LANKA. Currently we have nearly 30 branches islandwide and their main goal is to upgrade the family optical chain to more customer oriented venture and expand the branch network throughout the country.
If you don’t wish our home visit service
Due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown situation in some parts of the country we have also introduced a special virtual online system (customers own prescription required). Our opticians will not visit you in this system but will connect you using whatsapp, viber, email or by phone and will take a facial picture (with adhere to privacy protocols) and get the actual face measurement using face size detection software program developed by us to get all required information to make your glasses.
